Beautiful state of New Mexico

Uhhh… Where are we moving to? New Mexico? Where is that? Those were my first questions actually.  And now we are living here for more than a half year and “HEY DO TRAVEL ORGANIZATIONS KNOW SOMETHING ABOUT THIS STATE AT ALL?” I follow a facebook site amerika.nl but in the months I follow them they never ever placed something about New Mexico. So I think this part is still unknown territory for tourism from the Netherlands. I don’t know about other countries, but I do for my own home country! However, the Dutch are not alone in that, because in other parts of America there are people that don’t know that New Mexico is a state in America as well. They think New Mexico is part of Mexico…

10 Years ago when we made a road trip in the USA we actually also did not visit the state New Mexico, although we grazed it. We started in San Francisco and went to different parks like Yosemite Park, death Valley, Zion and Bryce Canyon and of course the Grand Canyon. But when we arrived in Phoenix (AZ) we didn’t go further east but back west. We didn’t know anything about the state New Mexico and I think our travel book didn’t have any information in it. But there are some treasures in New Mexico and having 300 days of sunshine a year is one of those and it comes with a lot of beautiful sunrises and sunsets!

We are here 7 months now and we already saw some beautiful places and still have to see a lot more of them. We do have a bucket list thingy for this area:

  • White sands national park
  • Riding the tram up the Sandia mountains
  • The Ah-Shi-Sle-Pah Wilderness Area (lovely rocks formations)
  • Carlsbad Caverns
  • ABQ Trolley
  • Riverbend Hot Springs (no kids allowed hihi) or Ojo Caliente Springs
  • Hot air balloon ride
  • Bandelier National Monument
  • Taos and a train ride in that area with the boys
  • And probably a lot more to do around here that we even don’t know about…..

I did post some pictures from the nature on my blogs and on my instagram/facebook page, but there will be coming a lot more of them! To Be Continued….. (posting this we allready made a beautiful trip again last weekend)
